Thank you for sharing it. As a writer, I find it nearly impossible to put words to my deepest pains. You have done an amazing job with that. Hugs to you and your family!

Words are so meaningless at a time like this, but I am glad you felt your brother with you and were so close to have so many good memories of him. My deepest sympathies to you and your family.

Wed, 14 Oct 2015 20:40:10 +0000http://www.jenbenna.com/?p=934#comment-325089My deepest condolences on your loss, Jen. I lost my only brother several years ago, which led to my return to running and ultimately trail running. You seem to be dealing with the loss openly and honestly, which in my experience helped greatly. Thank you for sharing what I’m sure was a very painful and personal race report. The hole in your heart that you described, will not disappear, but I promise that with time it will fill with the memories and love that you have for your brother. I applaud you on the foundation that your family is starting in his name. As someone who struggled with chemical dependency following retirement from a career in the performing arts, I relate to that directionless feeling that your brother struggled with. You and your family are honoring his memory in the best way possible, by helping others. Thank you again for sharing your experience!
